Bonn Park Podcast

May 20, 2020

Dr. Joanna Thiessen is a passionate Naturopathic doctor at her family practice, George Street Naturopathic Medicine in Waterloo.

She speaks about her work in the Kashechewan First Nation, through the Jays Care Foundation, a program that connects young Indigenous women with leadership mentors. The program empowers young women to make a difference in their communities and lead programming for their peers.

Dr. Joanna, as her patients know her, works with people of all ages and stages of life to help identify the root cause of their illness and supports them in making healthy choices while developing a treatment plan that is tailored specifically for them.

With a focus on family and children's health, she uses safe, gentle, and effective natural therapies to help her patients get well, and stay well.

On this episode of Bonn Park with Sara Geidlinger and Marshall Ward, Dr. Joanna sits down to talk about common misconceptions about Naturopathy, natural alternatives to prescription drugs for acute and chronic conditions, and how vital it is to really listen and take the time to get to know her patients.
